One night i was doing my usual routine on my comp and then it turns off. When i turned on the comp, it showed it was plugged in but was running strictly on the battery. It showed the battery was critically low so it would hibernate and turn itself off. The comp works perfectly fine when the battery is out though. But once the battery is put back in, it runs off of the battery and when taking out the battery, the computer loses power even though the adapter is plugged in the whole time.
I bought a new battery thinking that was the problem but it still doesnt charge. Everytime i put a battery in, the LED light on the power button starts to blink along with the white and orange lights in the front part of the laptop. I did test to make sure that power was running to the battery, which it is, but something must have burnt or shorted out which prevents the battery from being charge.
Any ideas on how to fix this problem??? It's quite annoying not having a "portable" laptop. I hope its a quick fix like buying a part or soldering something.
thanks in advance |

Really sounds like it may be a faulty battery disrupting the power supply.
If you purchased the machine from PowerNotebooks and it is under one year old, then your battery may still be under warranty. Please contact us for a replacement if this is the case. Our technical support phone number for this model is 877-944-4449.
If you simply want to purchase a replacement battery then you may do so here:

The problem may also be caused by a faulty motherboard or AC adapter. If your notebook includes a 3 year warranty, then you may want to send it in for evaluation before purchasing a battery. |

If new battery didn't fix the problem, I gess it would be save to say - problem is not in the battery. If the problem is in the adapter - the laptop shouldn't work at al with the battery out... So, it's something inside _________________ :-] |
